Specialised Certification provides an exacting measure of an individual’s competence and integrity in the spatial science disciplines to a level of higher expertise above the General Certificate.

Each SSSI Commission provides a Specialised Certification Program, which recognises the individual at the highest professional level in that particular spatial discipline. SSSI Specialists are held in utmost regard by SSSI, the wider community and the profession for their expertise and commitment to their spatial science discipline. 

Eligibility

Applicants must satisfy set educational, professional experience and contribution requirements in order to be considered for Specialised Certification. In order to uphold the integrity of the spatial science profession in Australia and to protect the future interests of the community, SSSI exercises strict professional discretion when considering the quality of Specialised Certification applicantions.

The following requirements apply to applicants:

• Applicants must successfully complete particular formal tertiary education in a particular spatial science discipline.
• Applicants must have obtained a degree of further professional experience.
• Success will also depend on the applicant’s contributions to the profession.
